Caution: We are extreme Wiesn-Lovers!

The source of that love was dear Georg Huber – a Wiesn veteran with Oktoberfest blood in his veins. In 1994 he had the ingenious idea to offer guided tours at the Oktoberfest. Since then, the most interesting stories surrounding the biggest and most memorable folk festival in the world have been researched, innumerable facts collected and very close contacts to showmen, stall owners and beer tent operators at the Wiesn have been established.

“We”, that is Kerstin and Claudia from Georg P. Huber event agency who are in charge of projects and events for a large variety of customers throughout the rest of the year. However, “we” also includes all Wiesn guides and stand staff, who are drawn back to the Wiesn to meet their “Wiesn family” every year.

In short: We are Wiesn maniacs, who can tell so many stories and anecdotes that you are guaranteed to learn more about the Oktoberfest with us in one hour than in 16 days spent in a beer tent.

We love “our” Oktoberfest, and nothing gives us more pleasure than sharing our knowledge with all those interested – locals as well as tourists. So that everyone will learn to love the Wiesn as much as we do!

The company „Fisch Winter KG“ has existed in Munich since 1914. It was founded by Karl Winter and was one of the oldest and best-known fish wholesalers in Bavaria.
Initially, it sold sea fish, fine fish, freshwater fish, smoked fish, salted herrings and marinades. Karl Winter even delivered to his customers personally with a handcart and later opened the „Sendlinger Fischhalle“ in Munich-Untersendling.

Karl Winter then offered grilled fish for the first time at the Oktoberfest, which immediately sold like hot cakes. This has not changed to this day. You absolutely have to try it!

This year, in cooperation with the Ammer Wiesnzelt, we have a great lunch offer that can be booked on all working days and as long as it is available.

First, a short Traditional Wiesn Tour tour takes you around the Oktoberfest for an hour and gives you a great insight and overview of the world’s biggest folk festival. So that your mind and body can regain their strength, you will then head to the Ammer’s Chicken & Duck Roasting House for lunch. There you can try the unique chicken and ducks for yourself.

Did you know that the AMMER has been at the Oktoberfest since 1885? It is the first and largest chicken roastery in the world and is one of the oldest businesses on the Wiesn.

Joseph Ammer, then a poultry trader at the Viktualienmarkt, applied for a spot at the Wiesn with a small stall. He was lucky and got the contract.
Back then, the animals were slaughtered directly at the stall and roasted on a hand spit. The small stall then became a proper tent in 1925 and the slogan “Oldest and largest chicken roasting house” adorned the facade even then. They were also the first to have electricity and sold 9,000 chickens – as many as all other suppliers put together.

Today, Josef Schmidbauer is the fifth generation to run the family business. Grilling the delicious chicken on the “hot iron” is simply part of the experience.
